Wesley: 13-15-2 Overall, 3-8-1 CAC

How it Happened:

The Lions offense got off to a fast start in game one, scoring in the first inning. Erelle Sowers led off the game with a single to right field. Katie Humphrey would bunt Sowers into scoring position and Carlee Gochenaur would crush an RBI single to center putting the Lions ahead 1-0.

The Lions would strike again in the third inning, with Humphrey reaching base on an error by the Wolverines shortstop. Emily Parmer would then single past the third baseman to move Humphrey to third. The Lions would then take advantage of a wild pitch, allowing Humphrey to score and put the Lions ahead 2-0.

This would be plenty of runs for the Harrisburg's starting pitcher Allison Hartman. Hartman would scatter the seven singles she allowed throughout the seven innings keeping the Wolverines offense from threatening. Hartman would add two strike outs and got several key defensive plays from the Lion's infield to prevent the Wolverines from scoring.

The Lions would add an insurance run in the fifth inning. Humphrey would once again reach base on a fielding error by the right fielder. Emily Parmer would draw a walk and Dominique Emmett would reach on a fielder's choice to load the bases. Gochenaur would once again come through, this time with a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Humphrey to score.

In game two, the Lions offense slowed, and while they consistently got runners on base and in scoring position, they could not convert any of those opportunities. Hartman would once again dominate the Wolverines holding them scoreless in the first seven innings of action while adding five more strikeouts. The Wolverines would score their only run of the game in the eighth inning, in route to the victory.
