Harrisburg Falls To Frostburg State

Penn State Harrisburg traveled to Frostburg State to open up CAC play. The Lions fell to the Bobcats 12-4 and 15-3.

In game one, the Lions fell behind early as the Bobcats scored a run in each, the 1st and 2nd innings before the Lions would tie it up off of RBI doubles from Rieley Loch (Madison Township, Pa. / North Pocono) and Amanda Hartman (Reading, Pa. / Oley Valley) to tie the game at two. But in the 4th innings Frostburg blew the game open scoring five runs in the 4th and two in the 5th. Erelle Sowers (Harleysville, Pa. / Souderton Area) doubled in two runs to in the top of 6th before the Lions would give up three in the bottom of the 6th to make the final 12-4.

In game two, the Lions where able to jump out early as Hartman knocked a run in the top of the first to take the 1-0 lead. The Bobcats blew it open again scoring one in the 1st, 7 in the 2nd, one in the 3rd, and six in the 4th to take the 15-1 lead. The Lions would fight back to score two in the 5th as Loch hit a two RBI double to make the final score 15-3

Loch led the way for the Lions as she went 3 for 6 with three RBIs and two doubles. Hartman also had a good day going 4 for 5 with two RBIs and a double.

The Lions will look to bounce back when they take on Mary Washington at home on Saturday April 2nd starting at 1 P.M.
