USTFCCCA Honors White For Academic Success

NEW ORLEANS – Thanks to his strong performance in the classroom and in the field, Penn State Harrisburg men's track & field athlete Alex White has earned Unites States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Individual recognition.

It is the second consecutive USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honor for White.

He was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Indoor Men's Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year after winning the conference title in the long jump and earning first-team all-conference honors in the process, setting a new program record in the event with a top leap of 7.01 meters. The senior also won bronze in the high jump and secured third-team all-conference recognition in the event. Individually, the Mifflintown, Pa. native racked up 20 total points at the NJAC Championships before following it up by winning the ECAC Division III Championship in the long jump in March.

White has also excelled academically throughout his career. In addition to earning a pair of USTFCCCA All-Academic individual awards, the Supply Chain Management was recently named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Academic Team for his success in the classroom this season after earning Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) All-Academic Team recognition last spring.

Overall, there were 325 men from 107 institutions who were named all-academic athletes by the organization. To qualify, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and met either of the following athletics standards: competed in the NCAA Indoor Championship or finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS, or competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS.
