Four T&F Athletes Named to NJAC All-Academic Team

PITMAN, N.J. – Thanks to their efforts in the classroom this season, four Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's track & field athletes have been named to the 2019-20 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Academic Team.

Senior men's jumper Alex White, junior women's distance runner Jennifer Ross, sophomore men's distance runner Prabin Bhattarai, and sophomore men's sprinter Alex Terody each earned the honor. To be eligible for the NJAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a senior, junior, or sophomore who has competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher.

White had a tremendous indoor campaign during Penn State Harrisburg's first year as a member of the conference. He was named the NJAC Indoor Men's Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year after winning the conference title in the long jump and earning first-team all-conference honors in the process, setting a new program record in the event with a top leap of 7.01 meters. The senior also won bronze in the high jump and secured third-team all-conference recognition in the event. Individually, White racked up 20 total points at the NJAC Championships.

Ross was a consistent contributor as part of the women's distance group, competing in the mile and 800m runs, as well the 4x400m relay. Terody helped the men's 4x200m and 4x400m relay teams to top-10 finishes at the NJAC Indoor Championships after also competing in the 60m and 200m dashes throughout the season. Bhattarai headed into indoor competition after taking part in four cross country meets in the fall.

White, Ross, Terody, and Bhattarai were part of a conference-record 1,109 total student-athletes named to the NJAC All-Academic Team for the 2019-20 academic year.
