Five Student-Athletes Headed to NCAA Outdoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced that five Penn State Harrisburg student-athletes will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, taking place May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Jalil Clayton, Sarah Lehman, Rae Rae Taylor, Alex White and Cameron Yon qualified for the national championship event after turning in stellar efforts this spring.  For each men's individual event, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.

Clayton will compete in both the 110m hurdles (14.34 seconds) and 400m hurdles (53.49 seconds), White qualified for the long jump (7.25 meters) and Yon holds the top seed in the discus throw (56.27 meters). Lehman qualified for the triple jump (11.77 meters), while Taylor will compete in the heptathlon (4,550 points).

This is the second year in a row that the five student-athletes will perform alongside the country's top NCAA Division III competitors. Lehman earned a fifth-place finish in the triple jump last spring, while Yon finished seventh in the discus throw. Both were named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Americans for their efforts.

The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships begin this Thursday, May 23. A full schedule of events and live stats will be available at this link.
