NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A number of student-athletes from Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field teams impressed at the 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut State and concluding on Thursday evening, May 16.

Senior Jalil Clayton won a pair of ECAC Championships in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles en route to being named the 2019 ECAC Outdoor Men's Most Outstanding Performer (MOP), fellow senior Cameron Yon won the ECAC Title in the discus throw for the second year in a row and junior Andrew Bomberger clinched his first ECAC Championship in the pole vault.

Clayton posted a season-best time of 14.34 seconds in the 110m hurdles; a mark good enough to rank him ninth in the nation in the event. His effort of 54.05 seconds in the 400m hurdles was also strong enough to earn him gold by more than a full second.

Yon was dominant in the discus throw, as his top toss of 54.78 meters clinched him the ECAC Championship in the event by more than nine meters. The thrower's consistency was on display, with five of his six attempts traveling farther than 52 meters.

Bomberger's first ECAC Championship came after he cleared the top height of 4.30 meters in the pole vault. His top attempt bested the runner-up from Alvernia by nearly .7 meters. He was the only vaulter to clear four meters on the day.

Freshman Dominick Hogans had a nice outing and earned silver in the 100m dash thanks to a jaunt of 10.85 seconds; a time just .03 seconds off the winning mark. He also came home third in the 200m dash after crossing the line in 22.19 seconds.

Junior Alex White was the sixth Penn State Harrisburg athlete to secure a medal at the meet. He brought home silver in the long jump after his top bound of 7.22 meters came within .13 meters of the championship-winning leap.

On the women's side, Aiyala McPhee capped her promising freshman campaign by capturing a silver medal in the 200m dash after posting a time of 25.59 seconds in the event.

Rae Rae Taylor's stamp was all over the meet for the Blue & White, as the sophomore secured third-place finishes in the 100m dash, high jump and long jump events, as well as fourth-place efforts in the 100m hurdles, triple jump and javelin throw.

Fellow sophomore Sarah Lehman was also in action in a pair of jump events. She clinched a third-place finish in the triple jump with a top bound of 11.39 meters and came home fourth in the long jump thanks to her top leap of 5.26 meters.

A number of Lions, including Yon, Clayton, White, Taylor and Lehman will now turn their attention towards next week's NCAA Division III Championships. Athletes accepted into the national event will be announced early next week.
