Yon Picks Up Second CAC Weekly Honor This Spring

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Thanks to his continued success at Bucknell's Bison Invitational over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg's Cameron Yon has been named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this spring.

Yon continued his push towards next month's NCAA Division III Track & Field Outdoor Championships with another massive effort at Bucknell. The senior posted five tosses of 51-plus meters in the discus throw, with his top effort of 55.78 meters ranking second only to himself in NCAA Division III. His throw at Bucknell earned him a runner-up finish in the event, with a thrower from Division I Army the only competitor to best him. Yon's effort topped those of a number of Division I and II athletes from schools including Penn State, Buffalo, Cornell, Army, Binghamton, Kutztown and Shippensburg.

This marks the second CAC honor for Yon this year and the sixth for Penn State Harrisburg men's track & field athletes overall.

Yon and his Blue & White teammates return to action at the Shippensburg Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, April 17.
