Clayton Earns Second CAC Weekly Honor

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Thanks to his stellar outings at a pair of meets in New York two weeks ago, Penn State Harrisburg's Jalil Clayton has been named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week.

The weekly award is Clayton's second of the young season. He earned the same honor earlier this winter back on Dec. 4.

The senior had a huge weekend at St. Thomas Aquinas' Spartan Invitational on Friday night, Jan. 11 and TCNJ's Lions Indoor Invitational the next day. The Chester, Pa. native set a program record in the 60m hurdles thanks to a winning time of 8.15 seconds, good enough to rank tops in the conference and third in the nation. He followed it up by running a time of 8.18 in the event on Saturday, earning him the runner-up spot and the top finish among Division III competitors. He also came home 12th in the 200m dash with a scamper of 22.82 seconds, which when converted, ranks him fourth in the conference.

Clayton and his teammates return to action this weekend when they travel to Bucknell for the Bison Open and Multi beginning Friday afternoon, Jan. 25.
