Penn State Harrisburg Finishes Strong at CAC Championship

Frostburg, Md.- On Friday and Saturday the Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Frostburg for the 2016 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Track and Field Championships. The men's team placed fifth overall with the women close behind in seventh.

Freshman Cameron Yon brought home a first place finish in the men's discus throw with a distance of 49.69 meters. Teammate Jalil Clayton placed second in the men's high jump and the 400-meter hurdles. Jalen William's finished sixth in the 100 and 200-meter dash with a time of 10.91 seconds and 21.81 seconds. Harrisburg's relay team consisting of Clayton, Williams, Isiah Waters, and Josiah Owhe placed fourth in the 4x100 meter relay. A different team consisting of Waters, Clayton, Charles Scheik, and Vladhimir Theophile finished third in the men's 4x400 relay.
Sophomore Ashley Williams led for the women with a first place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with an impressive time of 14.39 seconds. Newcomer Rachale Hair finished firth in the women's discus throw, followed by Erin Goodyear in eighth.
 

Both teams will travel to the University of Pennsylvania for the Penn Relays on Thursday April 28th. The meet will take place on Thursday and Friday April 29th.
