Williams Leads Harrisburg at Mason Dixon Invitational

Gettysburg, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg men's track and field team placed fourth overall this weekend at the 2016 Mason Dixon Invitational held by Gettysburg Collegen. The Lion's had several individuals place in the top three in their respective events.

Sophomore Jalen Williams led the way for Harrisburg with a first place finish in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Vladhimir Theophile turned in a runner up showing for the Lion's with his time of 50.31 seconds. Finishing up the sprints for Harrisburg, Jalil Clayton took first place in the 400 meter-hurdles with his time of 56.30 seconds. Edgar Makimoto came in fourth in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 35:01.15.
 
The men's relay team made up of Williams, Theophile, Clayton, and Josiah Owhe, came in second in the 4x100 meter relay. In the field portion of the invitational, freshman Cameron Yon placed second in the discus with a distance of 47.28 meters. Teammate Barry Porter placed fourth in the javelin with a personal best distance of 49.84 meters.
 

Penn State Harrisburg will prepare this week for the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championships taking place on Friday April 22nd and Saturday April 23rd. The event will be held at Frostburg State University.
