Clayton and Yon Lead the Lions at Millersville Metrics

Millersville, Pa.- Freshman Jalil Clayton (Chester, Pa. / Chester High School) led the Penn State Harrisburg men's track and field team at Millersville on Saturday, bringing home three top three finishes at the Millersville Metrics. The women's team also had several strong individual performances.

Clayton led for the Lion's with a second place finish in the men's 400-meter dash and a third place win in the men's high jump. Teammate Vladhimir Theophile (Reading, Pa. / Cherry Hill East High School) was close behind in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.70 seconds, earning him a spot in fifth. Clayton and Theophile were also members of the men's 4x400 relay that took home a third place win, along with Jalen Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area) and Isaiah Waters (Montclair, N.J / Montclair High School). Freshman Cameron Yon (Patuxent River, MD / Great Mills High School) came up big for Harrisburg with a second place win in the men's discus with a distance of 48.12 meters, placing him first in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC), first in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC),  and third in the nation. The men ended the meet in ninth place with a total of 43 points.

On the women's side, Ashley Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area High School) placed third in the women's 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.14 seconds. Williams third place finish ranks her first in the CAC and eighth in the ECAC in the women's 100 meter hurdles.  Logan Akers (Camp Hill, Pa. / Camp Hill) ran the women's 5000 meter and finished with a time of 20:44.59, earning a seventh place spot. The women finished the meet in 16th place with a total score of 8 points.
 

Both teams will travel to Messiah on Friday April 8th for the Messiah Invitational.
