HERSHEY, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's golf team opened the 2023-24 campaign at Elizabethtown's Fall Invite at Hershey Country Club East on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 12. As a group, the Lions finished in a tie for seventh place out of a dozen competing programs.
In his first outing for Penn State Harrisburg, Jacob Lotz led the way, shooting a team-low 80 (+9) and securing a share of 26th place out of 68 total golfers.
The experience of Matthew Redman was on display as he carded an 81 (+10) to finish in a tie for 34th, while Gavin Fegley shot an 82 (+11) to grab a share of 40th in his first match for Penn State Harrisburg. Nick Fowler also impressed in his Penn State Harrisburg debut, as did veteran Ian Martin who completed the team's scoring contingency. Both players carded an 83 (+12) to secure a share of 46th.
The Lions will return to action at the Dickinson College Invite at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Club on Sunday morning, Sept. 24.
