Redman Shines, Golf Finishes Third at LVC Invitational

LEBANON, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's golf team turned in a strong effort at the Lebanon Valley Invitational at the Lebanon Country Club on Monday afternoon, finishing third out of 17 competing teams. 

 

The Lions combined to shoot a 321 (+33) and finished a dozen strokes off the top mark of the overall winners from Scranton. Eastern finished in the runner-up spot with a score of 318 (+30).

 

Individually, Matthew Redman led the way, finishing as the invitational's runner-up thanks to a score of 74 (+2) and the event's fourth tiebreaker. The junior finished just one stroke shy of the top score carded by Eastern's Devin Cooper. 

 

Josh Africa and Jonathan Donovan just missed out on top-10 finishes, with each golfer securing a share of 11th place behind a score of 79 (+7). Ian Martin completed the Penn State Harrisburg scoring contingency with an 89 (+17) and Tyler Sullivan was the team's fifth golfer to compete at LCC.

 

The Lions are set to return to action at the two-day Penn State Division III Challenge at University Park beginning on Saturday afternoon, April 1.
