Men's Golf Earns Runner-Up Finish at Husky Invitational

DANVILLE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's golf team turned in another strong showing on Thursday afternoon, finishing second out of seven competing teams at Bloomsburg's Husky Invitational held at the Frosty Valley Resort.

The Lions were the highest-finishing Division III team on the day, with only Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) besting the Blue & White. As a group, Penn State Harrisburg shot a 314 (+26).

Individually, Tiger Xu led the way for the Lions, carding a 77 (+5) to earn a third-place finish in a field of 33 competitors. Joshua Africa finished right behind his teammate in fourth place thanks to his effort of 78 (+6), while Matthew Redman secured a share of fifth place with a score of 79 (+7). Andrew Fink was the fourth Penn State Harrisburg golfer to earn a top-10 finish, as his effort of 80 (+8) was good enough for ninth overall, while Ian Martin rounded out the Blue & White contingency with an 82 (+10); strong enough to earn a share of 11th place.

With the regular season behind them, the Lions will turn their focus to the 2022 United East Championships. The two-day event will begin on Saturday, April 23 at the Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro, N.J. before wrapping up the following afternoon.
