Men's Golf Performs Well at Golden Oaks Shootout

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's golf team wrapped up two days of competition at the Golden Oaks Shootout hosted by Arcadia at the Golden Oaks Country Club on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 25.

 

As a group, the Lions secured a fifth-place finish out of 11 competing teams thanks to a two-day score of 615, while Tiger Xu was Penn State Harrisburg's top individual finisher. The sophomore carded a two-day total of 148 (+4) to earn a share of fourth place overall out of 55 total golfers.

 

Matthew Redman finished with a two-day score of 153 (+9) to secure a share of 22nd place, while reigning United East Men's Golfer of the Week Josh Africa posted a total score of 154 (+10) en route to a share of 25th place. Andrew Fink carded a two-day 159 (+15) to grab a share of 34th place and complete the Blue & White scoring contingency, while Josh Swartz rounded things out with a two-day 168.

 

The Lions will get a sneak peek of what's to come at the end of the 2021-22 campaign when they take part in the United East Fall Preview hosted by Rutgers-Camden at the Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro, N.J. on Monday afternoon, Oct. 4.
