The 2017 CAC Men's Golf Championship is set for Friday, April 14 - Sunday, April 16 at Bay Creek Golf Course in Cape Charles, Va., marking the second straight year that the championship tournament will be held at Bay Creek. 

Also for the second straight year, the championship will feature a 54-hole format with the team champion earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The NCAA Championship will take place from May 16-19 in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. 

For the fourth consecutive season, seven squads will compete for the CAC crown, with the addition of one full-member CAC institution for the first time. Mary Washington is in its first year with men's golf as a varsity sport and will be competing in its first-ever CAC golf championship. Five other full CAC members – Christopher Newport, Marymount, Penn State Harrisburg, Wesley, and York – along with associate member New Jersey City – are set to tee off this weekend.

Tee times will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. Live scoring will also be updated throughout each day. 

Christopher Newport heads into this year's event as the favorite, as the Captains are the three-time defending champions and also won a preview tournament this past fall at Bay Creek. 

Below is complete team-by-team preview of the 2017 CAC Men's Golf Championship. 

CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT will be looking to capture its fourth consecutive CAC Championship as it takes the course this weekend. Sophomore David Rabil is putting together one of the finest years in CNU Golf history, winning three tournaments and boasting the program's lowest single season stroke average at 72.2. SeniorHarry Nodwell is also having a strong closing run, ranking second on the team with a 73.6 stroke average in three events this spring. With Rabil and Nodwell, last year's CAC Rookie of the Year rounds out the returning starters from last season's championship run, as Joey Corlett is averaging 76.1 this season with a pair of top ten finishes.

MARY WASHINGTON enters its first CAC Championship after a very successful first varsity season. The Eagles, a team comprised of freshmen, are led by Philip Manceri, Ethan Kelly, Jason Guintu, and Brendan Kelly, and last competed at the Marine Corps event in Camp Lejune, N.C., where they finished tied for sixth place in the championship bracket. 

MARYMOUNT returns several experienced golfers for the CAC Championship, while everyone had the opportunity to play the course in the Fall for the Bay Creek Invitational. The Saints will look toward returning Second-Team All-CAC and lone senior Kyle Weitendorf to take the leadership role into the three-day championship after placing 12th at last year's event. Junior Erik Timlin and freshman John David Coffin will also look to work their way into the top mix after having strong showings through the spring season, each averaging rounds in the mid-70s.

NEW JERSEY CITY, in its fourth year as an associate member of the CAC, heads south for this year's championship with the most talented roster in its history. The Gothic Knights, fresh off a 166-stroke lopsided home course win on April 9, have enjoyed an abundance of success in head-to-head action, going 6-0 in duals this year. Individually, and as a team, the program has broken record after record, including a 313 team score on a par 71 on Oct. 2 and a 317 on a par 72 course on Sept. 19. There has been healthy competition on the roster, comprised of mostly freshmen and sophomores. On Sept.19, freshman Cameron Arnold broke the program's relative-to-par record (+4, 76) before fellow freshman Daniel Natoli eclipsed that mark just 10 minutes later with a +3 (75). They have joined with freshman Daniel Gaul to form a very capable core of newcomers to team with sophomores Alexander Sill and Bobby Williams. Military veteran Justin Davis, who served in the Middle East, also joined the program for the first time this spring. Arnold has been an individual medalist three times this year while Sill just placed first on April 9 for the second time this season.

PENN STATE HARRISBURG will look to their experienced upperclassmen to lead them into the CAC championship. Seniors Tyler Shank and Matt Hoare along with Junior Keith Miller will lead the Lions as they look to improve on their finish from last years' event. 

WESLEY looks to capture its fourth CAC Championship. Tyler Spielberger and Dylan Chessher will lead the Wolverines. Spielberger tied for 12th place with a two-day total of 154 at the final tune-up before the CAC Championships at the Glenn Heath Invitational. Chessher shot a 156 to tie for 22nd place at the Glenn Heath Invitational. Chessher placed 17th at last year's CAC tournament while Spielberger finished 19th. This year's tournament also marks the last for long-time head coach Rick McCall, who will retire at season's end after 23 years at Wesley. McCall was the NCAA Coach of the Year in 2003 and coached Chris Noll, who won the 2002 Division III National Championship.

YORK enters the 2017 championships with a young group of players. Senior Alex Colton brings the most experience to the squad as he will be playing in his third CAC championship tournament. Sophomore Tyler Newton was an All-CAC finisher last year as he placed sixth in his first conference championships. FreshmanMorgan Uhlick will head into his first CAC championships having led the Spartans all season long. JuniorMichael Fedak will be playing in his first CAC championship as will freshman Zach Billings. The Spartans have won two CAC championships in the previous nine years of CAC golf. York captured the crown in 2009 and again in 2013.
