Massar Leads the Way for Men’s Golf

Cape Charles, Va.- Over the past two days, the Penn State Harrisburg men's golf team played in the Bay Creek Invitational held by fellow Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) competitor, Christopher Newport. The Lions had several players place in the top twenty and as a team they finished third. 

 At the end of day one, Harrisburg's own Tyler Massar (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) was tied for first at (+2) with Patrick Johnson from Christopher Newport. His teammate, Keith Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Thomas Jefferson) was close behind in sixth place and at (+7) for the day. Massar and Miller brought the same intensity into day two of the tournament. Massar ended the tournament tied for fifth while Miller finished tied for ninth. Their teammate, Tyler Shank (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) finished the tournament respectably in nineteenth place. Christopher Newport won the invitational and were followed by Marymount, Penn State Harrisburg, Wesley, and York. 

 The men will return on play on Sunday, October 11th for the Washington and Jefferson Invitational held by Washington and Jefferson. The tournament will be held on both Sunday and Monday.
