Lions Finish Top Three at Alvernia Spring Invitational

The Penn State Harrisburg men's golf team stayed at the top of the table in the Alvernia Spring Invitational Tuesday March 31st.  Keith Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa / Thomas Jefferson) led the way finishing eighth to help the Blue and White to a 3rd place finish.

Harrisburg has started out great so far this Spring.  In just two events, the team has a first place finish and now a third place finish in their two tournaments. The men are also very competitive amongst themselves; setting up what could be a very succesful 2015 campaign.  In Tuesday's match, the Lions had four scorers in the top sixteen and all within four strokes of each other.

Miller led the way with his 77 (+5), followed closely by Tyler Shank (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) (+8), Collin Hagenbuch (Easton, Pa / Wilson) (+9) and Tyler Massar (Lebanon, Pa / Cedar Crest) (+9) who combined for a team score of 319 (+31).  Penn State Harrisburg finished third overall while Messiah College claimed the win with a 306 (+18) and just a few strokes behind second place Muhlenberg who finished with a 328 (+28).

The Lions get off for Easter and then compete at the Lebanon Valley Invitational on Monday April 6th starting at 12:30 pm.
