Baylor-Carroll Earns Second Conference Weekly Award Sweep

LATHAM, N.Y. – For the second time this season, Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball player Donyae Baylor-Carroll has swept the United East Volt Division Weekly Awards, earning both offensive and defensive player of the week recognition.

 

For Baylor-Carroll, the most recent accolades are his seventh and eighth conference weekly awards of the season. He earned a pair of defensive player of the week honors in November before adding an offensive player of the week plaudit in December. He also swept the league's weekly awards in early January and earned the conference's offensive distinction last week.  

 

Baylor-Carroll opened the week by netting a game-high 31 points to surpass the 1,800 mark for his career in a 72-57 win over Penn State Abington on Wednesday night. The senior added a game-best six steals and six assists to go along with four rebounds and a block. The versatile guard followed it up by netting a game-high 17 points, dishing out a game-best seven assists, and swiping a game-high four steals in a 73-52 victory over St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon. For the week, the Harrisburg, Pa. native averaged 24 points per game on 58.1 percent shooting from the field and 46.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc to go along with 6.5 assists and five steals per contest.

 

Winners of 10 in a row, the Lions (21-3, 11-0 United East) travel to Lancaster Bible for another matchup with their conference rivals in each team's regular season finale on Tuesday night, Feb. 13.
