Former Hoops Standout Stone Named EPAC Coach of the Year

LANCASTER, Pa. – In just his first year as Thaddeus Stevens men's basketball head coach, former Penn State Harrisburg standout Kenny Stone '14 has been named the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Men's Basketball Coach of the Year.

Stone took over at Thaddeus Stevens prior to the 2018-19 season after serving as an assistant coach on staffs at Elizabethtown and Central Penn for four years. This winter, he led the Bulldogs to 17 wins, an EPAC Tournament berth and an appearance in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Tournament.

Under Stone's leadership, a pair of Thaddeus Stevens players in Mason Bossert and Marquel Wansley earned EPAC All-Conference First-Team recognition for their play this season.

During his three-year career at Penn State Harrisburg, Stone helped lead the Lions to a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Game appearance before being named a team captain by head coach Don Friday for the program's first year of Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) play; a campaign that included the program's first-ever victory over a nationally-ranked opponent.
