How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg completed the season sweep of Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) foe Southern Virginia thanks to a 74-63 road victory on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26.

The Lions (12-7, 4-4 CAC) were led by Donyae Baylor-Carroll's career-high 26 points and four steals. Kahlil Williams turned in a nice effort with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Brandon Coleman was the third Penn State Harrisburg player to reach the double-digit scoring mark with 10 tallies.

Baylor-Carroll knocked down the game's first shot, a 3-pointer on the visitors' opening possession, foreshadowing the type of performance he was about to put forth. The freshman netted 19 points in the first half and helped push what was a 3-point advantage at the 8:42 to mark to a double-digit lead heading into the break.

The Blue & White led 44-32 at the break and never allowed the Knights (4-15, 0-8 CAC) to get back in it. SVU was unable to draw any closer than eight points and the Lions used a quick run midway through the second half to stretch the advantage to as much as 16 points following a Keenan Wise jump shot with 7:29 left to play.

Facing a double-digit deficit with less than three minutes remaining, the Knights strung together a couple of baskets to claw to within five. With only 1:17 left, however, they were forced to foul. Coleman and Williams were clutch at the charity stripe, converting a combined seven free throws to put the game out of reach for good.
