Buena Vista, Va. – Jazmon Harris led Penn State Harrisburg with 17 points, but the Lions were unable to get past the Southern Virginia Knights and themselves in what should have been viewed by the team as a must-win conference matchup. With the loss, the Lions fall to 9-12 overall, and 6-8 in the CAC standings.

How it Happened:
-Jazmon Harris started the scoring for Penn State Harrisburg with a big 3 pt. shot 46 seconds into the contest.

-Southern Virginia really made the Lions work hard to get every stop on defense, especially in the early going. The knights used their full possessions to move the ball around and get good open looks, which allowed them to score on over 59% on field goals and 75% from beyond the arc in the first half.

-The Lions created a number of great looks for themselves in the first half as well, but were simply unable to get the ball to fall through the hoop. They finished the first half scoring only eight of their 27 field goal attempts (29.6%), while going two-for-nine (22.2%) from 3 pt. range.

-Despite their first half shooting struggles, Penn State Harrisburg was able to cut into the Knights' 15-point halftime lead. The 7-0 run to begin the second half was led by Marquise Daniels, whose energy seemed to spark the team around him.

- The closest the team was able to get to evening the score was when Harris drained a 3 pt. shot with 12:38 to go in the game, making it 52-48 and pulling the Lions within four.

-But it all seemed to derail from that point, as Southern Virginia regained steam with a 10-1 run over the following two minutes.

-Penn State Harrisburg were unable to handle their struggles and lost control emotionally, which resulted in five technical fouls throughout the contest, four of which came at crucial times in the second half. The technical fouls turned in to 10 points and loss of possessions. An untimely emotional outburst by Harris earned him an ejection with 4:14 to play.

Playoff Picture:
-With the loss, Penn State Harrisburg fall to 6-8 in the CAC, dropping them the seventh in the standing and one game removed from playoff eligibility.

-Mary Washington fell to Frostburg State in a one-point OT loss, keeping them tied with Penn State Harrisburg. Wesley defeated Marymount (Va.) earlier in the afternoon, placing both of those teams one game ahead of the Lions at 7-7 records apiece.
