Harrisburg Comes up Short Against the Eagles

Middletown, Pa.- Saturday February 20th, the Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team hosted Mary Washington for their final game of the regular season. The Eagles came out strong in the first half with Harrisburg struggling to put points on the board. The Lions dominated the last ten minutes of the second half and made an incredible effort to bring home a win. Mary Washington went on to win 77-63.

The Eagles controlled the opening minutes by leading Harrisburg 16-4 with 13:18 to go in the first half. Kahlil Williams (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) tried to slow down the visitors  with two straight baskets. Jazmon Harris (Baltimore, Md. / Patterson) came up big for Harrisburg with his first three pointer of the day to bring the Lions closer to Mary Washington. Just a few moments later, Marquese Daniels (Philadelphia, Pa. / Philadelphia Electric & Technology Charter) dropped his first three of the day and a bucket right after to put five points on the board for the Lions. Harrisburg trailed at the half, 44-22.
 

Harrisburg came out hot in the second half as Harris sank two three pointers back to back. With 11:50 to go, Daniels stepped up and dropped two more three's for Harrisburg and a bucket to bring them eighteen points behind the visitors. With only four minutes to, Harris came up big with his sixth three of the day. Harrisburg fought to bring the score to 68-56 with less than four minutes to go in the game. Once again, Harris fought through the paint to sink two straight baskets to make it a seven point game at 68-61 with 1:58 to go. The Lions were unable to overcome Mary Washington's first half lead and fell 77-63.

 

Before the game, Harrisburg honored Seniors Anthony Morgan, Arick Sodini, Joshua Johnson and Junior Jourdon Wilson for their contributions to Penn State Harrisburg over the last four years. The Lions finished the season 12-13 overall, and 7-11 in conference.
