Middletown, PA — In the final North Eastern Athletic Conference game of the season, D'Youville College held off a furious second half start by Penn State Harrisburg to win 92-82. Penn State Harrisburg ended the season with a record of 6-8 in the NEAC and 8-17 overall. D'Youville College ended the year at 4-10 in the NEAC and 7-18 overall.

The entire first half went back and forth with several lead changes. Neither team had a lead of more then seven points and even then, the opposing team would quickly retake control. Both teams started out shooting very well, especially Penn State Harrisburg's Abe Hitz (Annville, PA/Annville-Cleona) who scored 14 points in the first ten minutes of the game. With how the entire first half was played, it was no surprise, that at halftime the game was tied at forty-one. Hitz continued his hot start, finishing with 19 points at the half.

The second half had two huge momentum swings that decided the final outcome of this very close game. The first swing was seen by the Nittany Lions who jumped out to an eleven point lead seven minutes into the second half, and it seemed as if D'Youville had lost their cool, and the Blue and White were on their way to a dominating victory. In that time span, Abe Hitz again had an impressive scoring run where he accounted for 10 points in the first four minutes of the second half.

At that moment the game changed again, and it was D'Youville who seized control and eventually took command of the game. D'Youville used some timely three pointers by Jordan Taylor and Daniel Glover, while playing strong defense to do so. It didn't help that Hitz, who had 31 points with fifteen minutes left in the second half, didn't score a single point the rest of the way. With all these factors in play, D'Youville wound up winning 92-82.

As noted, Hitz led Penn State Harrisburg with 31 points. Seth Lewis (Grantville, PA/Lower Dauphin) had 17 points and 10 rebounds, also. For D'Youville College, they had four guys in double figures and where led by Jordan Taylor and Derek Tapscott who both scored 19 points.

This was final home game for the Nittany Lions of the 2007-2008 basketball season.
