LA PLUME, Pa. – In the team's regular season finale, Penn State Harrisburg field hockey was edged by Keystone 1-0 in conference action on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 26.
The Lions (9-6, 2-3 United East) earned a pair of good looks in the early going, with Sadie Cook and McKenzie Grady each getting off a shot on frame but Keystone goalkeeper Hannah Osbahr turned both attempts away in the first quarter.
Penn State Harrisburg's depth was tested in the first half and the Giants (7-7, 3-2 United East) took advantage late in the first half when Vicky Mainero found the back of the cage in the 25th minute, giving the home team a lead it would not relinquish the rest of the way.
In the second half, the Lions managed an early penalty corner and a shot from Sadie Cook but Keystone kept the pressure on and was awarded four corners in the third quarter. The Giants continued their stingy play in the final period to escape with the slim victory.
