LA PLUME, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team got back on track with a doubleheader sweep at Keystone in a United East divisional crossover on Saturday afternoon, April 6. The Lions rolled to a 10-3 win in the opener before completing the sweep with an 8-4 victory in the nightcap.

GAME 1

Penn State Harrisburg (17-6) racked up 10 hits and 10 runs to secure the win over Keystone (16-6) in Saturday's first contest. Lucas Floyd and Carlos Irizarry both went yard, with each player driving in three runs. Kyle Mahady earned the win and Josh Berzonski picked up the save.

The Lions struck first with three runs in the top of the second, keyed by a two-RBI double from Floyd and a Blaine Waltimyer sacrifice fly but the hometown Giants answered back with three of their own in the bottom half.

Irizarry came through with a three-run home run in the top of the third to put the visitors back on top and Irizarry launched a solo home run in the fifth to make it 7-3. Brendan Henn pushed the lead to five with a sac fly in the sixth and Drew Sassaman drove in Dallas Hite in the eighth to make it 9-3. The Lions added one last insurance run when an Irizarry ground out plated Henn in the ninth and Berzonski closed things out in the bottom half.

GAME 2

Penn State Harrisburg (18-6) methodically built a lead and kept Keystone (16-7) at bay to complete the doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon. Carlos Irizarry drove in four runs, while Brendan Henn had a three-hit game and scored three times.

The Lions got on the board first when Irizarry singled home Henn in the top of the first but the home team pulled ahead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third.

A wild pitch allowed Lucas Floyd to come across and tie things up in the fourth and the next two and a half innings saw neither team pull back in front. Another wild pitch put the visitors ahead in the seventh when Drew Sassaman came home and Irizarry came through again with a two-RBI double that made it 5-2. Floyd capped the inning's scoring with an RBI triple to push the advantage to four.

The Giants cut the deficit in half with a pair of runs in the bottom half but Penn State Harrisburg answered back with two runs in the top of the eighth when an Irizarry ground out drove in Sassaman before a Coy Schwanger RBI single plated Henn.
