LATHAM, N.Y. – Penn State Harrisburg baseball player Josh Berzonski has been named the United East Volt Division Pitcher of the Week.
The honor is Berzonski's second conference weekly award this season after earning the same recognition earlier this month.
The lefty reliever earned his third win of the season by throwing the final five innings of an 8-3 victory over No. 25 York (Pa.) on Tuesday afternoon, striking out a season-high seven batters and allowing just one run on two hits and a walk to a Spartans squad that entered the day averaging 11.3 runs per game. The sophomore followed it up by earning his second save of the spring in a 5-3 victory over Stevens on Sunday, surrendering no runs or walks and just two hits to go along with four more strikeouts. Across the pair of victories, he racked up 11 strikeouts, allowed just one run, and lowered his season ERA to 0.92.
The Lions (13-5) return to action at No. 7 Rowan on Wednesday afternoon.
