YORK, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team overcame an early deficit before the bullpen locked things down in a 10-7 road victory at York (Pa.) on Tuesday afternoon, March 21.

Dallas Hite and Maddux Ryan each had three-hit outings, with Hite adding a home run. Brendan Henn, Carlos Irizarry, and Lucas Floyd drove in two runs apiece, while relievers Simeon Davis, Caiden Ertter, and Joel Sneeringer combined to throw seven scoreless innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lions (11-5) stemmed an early charge from the hometown Spartans (8-8) and chipped away at a four-run deficit before pulling ahead in the final frames on Tuesday afternoon.

Hite opened the game by launching the first pitch of the contest over the fence in left center. Henn followed it up with a single and a stolen base before Kevin Lehner drove him in with an RBI single to left field.

York (Pa.) responded with a big bottom half of the first, using five hits, including a lead-off triple, an error and a walk to plate five runs. The visitors got one back in the top of the second when a Henn sacrifice fly pushed Floyd across but the Spartans tacked on two more in the bottom of the frame to make it 7-3.

After three quiet innings, Penn State Harrisburg got the bats going again in the sixth. Irizarry got the scoring started with a bases-loaded sac fly and Floyd drove in Drew Bechtold and Josh Lantz with a double to right center. Henn eventually tied things up with a two-out sacrifice fly of his own that scored Floyd.

Ertter stranded a pair of Spartans in scoring position in the bottom half and the Lions pulled back in front in the seventh, using a pair of hits, two walks, a fielder's choice, and another sacrifice fly to plate a pair of runs.

The visitors added an insurance run in the top of the eighth thanks to Maddux Ryan's two-out, RBI single that drove in Lehner after he doubled to right field. Sneeringer spelled Ertter in the eighth and stranded a pair before doing the same in the bottom of the ninth to seal the win.
