MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's Bret Williams has been named a D3baseball.com First-Team All-American, as announced by the organization on Tuesday, May 28.

The junior's impressive list of accolades continues to grow, as he becomes the first player in program history to earn all-America recognition of any kind. The Mount Carmel, Pa. native joins track & field athletes Sarah Lehman, Rae Rae Taylor, Ashley Williams and Cameron Yon as the only all-Americans in school history.

His most recent honor comes after he was named the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Player of the Year and First-Team All-Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings earlier this week. He was also pegged D3baseball.com First-Team All-Region earlier this month.

Williams turned in a career year in 2019 and currently leads the nation in hits (88), runs (75) and total bases (161). He also ranks second in the country in home runs (18) and runs batted in (70). The outfielder was named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Player of the Year after winning the league's batting title and slashing .431/.514/.789 with an OPS of 1.303. He added 36 extra-base hits, including 17 doubles, 32 walks and seven stolen bases. Williams was named CAC First-Team All-Conference for the second year in a row after picking up D3baseball.com National Team of the Week and CAC Player of the Week honors earlier this season.

Penn State Berks senior Toby Welk was named the D3baseball.com Player of the Year, Washington (Mo.) senior John Howard was tabbed the organization's pitcher of the year and freshman Jack Hodgins from Hendrix was pegged the D3baseball.com Rookie of the Year.
