Williams Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Thanks to his stellar efforts during last weekend's Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Playoff Tournament, Penn State Harrisburg's Bret Williams has been named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week.

 

The junior helped lead the Lions (31-11-1) to a pair of victories at No. 6 Salisbury and another over Southern Virginia, pushing the Blue & White on to the CAC Championship Series for the second year in a row. Williams hit .438 and slugged 1.188 with an on-base percentage of .500, giving him an impressive OPS of 1.688. In four games played, he tallied five extra-base hits, including three home runs, a triple and one double, to go along with 19 total bases, nine runs scored, six RBIs and two walks.

 

Williams and the rest of the Lions return to action when they travel to No. 2 Christopher Newport for the CAC Playoff Tournament Championship Series beginning on Thursday afternoon, May 9.
