Gettys Named CAC Pitcher of the Week

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Thanks to his stellar performance in a victory over Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon, Penn State Harrisburg's Zach Gettys has been named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week.

 

Gettys was excellent on the mound in a 6-0 victory over the Bobcats in the nightcap of a conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The sophomore got the start and earned the win, throwing eight scoreless innings and allowing just four baserunners on two hits and two walks. The lefty struck out 11 batters and fielded his position perfectly, recording three assists on three chances.

 

After earning the No. 4 seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament, the Lions will face the tourney's yet-to-be-determined No. 6 seed at Salisbury on Friday morning, May 3 in the team's next outing.
