Lion's Win Slugfest Against York (Pa.)

York, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg baseball team got back on the winning side of the ledger with a big win against York (Pa.) on Wednesday April 13th. The Lion's jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after the first inning and held on to win 13-7.

Junior Tom Denniston got things started for Harrisburg with a single to center field, advancing Blake Reiff to home plate. Travis VanHouten brought in two RBI's off a single to right field his first time at bat to give the Lion's a 4-0 lead against the home team. Will Quiles and Denniston added to Harrisburg's tally with two more singles to close the first inning. The Lion's extended their lead to 10-0 after the third thanks to a double from Denniston and a throwing error by the Spartans.
 

The Spartans remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth where they doubled to left field to bring in their first two runs of the afternoon. York added four more runs in the seventh but could not catch up to the Lion's early lead. Quiles and Bowers added two more singles in the final innings to seal the Lion's win. Bobby Patterson took home his sixth win on the mound, striking out three Spartans and giving up only two runs.

Penn State Harrisburg will return home on Thursday April 14th for a double header against Christopher Newport. Game times are set for 12 and 2 pm.
