Penn State Harrisburg Dominates Gettysburg

Gettysburg, Pa.- Sophomore Will Quiles (Tamiment, Pa. / East Stroudsburg North) went 2-for-3 with a home run and 2 RBI's for the day as the Penn State Harrisburg baseball team defeated non-conference opponent Gettysburg, 11-4, at Kirchhoff Field on Tuesday March 22nd.

The Lion's had a slow start in the opening innings but found their stride in the fifth as Kevin Kremer (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) singled to the right, advancing Jackson Struve (Bel Air, Md. / Bel Air) to home plate for Harrisburg's third run of the day. Next up was Freshman Ethan Kell (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown) with the Lion's only double of the afternoon. In the sixth, Harrisburg brought home two more runs off of walks.
 
Struve drove in Ian Maier-Breed (Lumberton, N.J. / Holy Cross) with a single in the bottom of the seventh. The Bullets tried to overcome Harrisburg's 8-3 lead in the seventh with their own single to right field. Quiles hit his first home run of the season to extend Harrisburg's lead to, 10-4, with only one inning to go. The Lion's would add one final run in the ninth off of a wild pitch by the Bullets.  
 

Harrisburg will hit the road once again tomorrow, March 23rd, for a conference game against Wesley. The Lion's will look to bring home their third conference win of the season. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
