LEBANON, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country programs opened their 2019 campaigns by taking part in the annual Dutchmen Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley at Union Canal Tunnel Park on Saturday morning, Sept. 7.

Both squads were paced by freshmen, with Alexandria Morrison coming home as the top finisher of any Blue & White runner on the day. Her time of 23:09.50 in the women's 5K was good enough to secure her 100th place out of nearly 160 total competitors.

Morrison was followed by fellow rookie Abagail Marquardt in 107th place thanks to her effort of 23:54.40. Rounding out the Penn State Harrisburg scoring contingency were Jameraquai May (133rd), Jennifer Ross (141st) and Carly Moore (150th).

On the men's side, it was youngster Patrick Workman leading the way, with his jaunt of 31:58.80 proving good enough to earn him the 103rd position out of a total of more than 160 runners in the 8K event.

Another freshman in Camilo Ruiz followed closely behind his teammate in 117th place, while fellow rookie Charles-Antoine Sokohl crossed the line in the 125th position. Dominick Hogans, Prabin Bhattarai and Alex Terody rounded out the participants for the Blue & White.

The Lions will have a weekend off before competing in their next outing at Lancaster Bible's Charger Invitational on Friday afternoon, Sept. 20.
