NEW YORK - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's indoor track & field teams burned the midnight oil at the Division III Invitational hosted by New York University (NYU) at the Armory in New York City on Friday evening, Feb. 3.

Strong efforts from middle-distance runner Tatyana Gibson and sprinter Leah Gray highlighted the women's competition, while throwers Comlan Greg Acoliste and Angad Bhullar, along with jumper Isaac Whitson, turned in new PRs to lead the way for the men.

Gibson reset her own program record in the mile thanks to an effort of 5:38.66; topping her previous mark set last season by nearly six seconds. One week after moving into second place in the program record book in the 60m, Gray etched her name in third in the 200m thanks to her time of 27.00 seconds flat. In addition to her ninth-place finish in the 200m, Gray also finished fourth in the 60m with a time of 8.05 seconds.

Acoliste moved into second all-time in program history in the weight throw thanks to his top toss of 13.53 meters, while Bhullar's best effort of 13.08 meters in the shot put was strong enough to secure him third all-time in the event in Penn State Harrisburg history. Whitson led the way in the jump pit, with his top leap of 12.83 meters proving good enough to rank him second all-time in the event.

Elsewhere for the women, Nofisat Aina just missed out on a top-10 finish in the long jump after competing in the 60m, while Makayla Grace Weber, Layla Germain, Dessire Amaya, and Abagail Marquardt also pulled double duty. Weber ran the 60m hurdles and 400m, Germain competed in the 60m and 200m, Amaya took part in the 400m and 800m, and Marquardt was in action in the 800m and mile, respectively.

On the men's side, Paul Netland III finished sixth in the 60m hurdles behind an effort of 8.77 seconds after running the 60m and Sean Myron's top toss of 13.24 meters in the shot put invite earned him an eighth-place finish. Sean Hamby competed in both the 60m and 800m, while Mohammed Sakayl was in action in the 800m and mile, respectively. Jon Carnesi also pulled double duty in the 800m and mile.

The Lions will get one last tune up before the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Indoor Championships when they take part in Susquehanna's Friday Night Showdown on Feb. 10. The first event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
