Williams Places Third at ECAC Championship

Staten Island, N.Y.- The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded on Saturday with several Penn State Harrisburg athletes placing in the top ten in their respective events.

Heading into the men's 4x200 meter relay, Penn State Harrisburg was ranked 20th. The relay team consisting of Josiah Owhe (Westbury, N.Y. / Westbury), Jalen Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area) , Jalil CLyaton (Chester, Pa. / Chester High School), and Vladhimir Theophile (Reading, Pa. / Cherry Hill East High School) ran an impressive relay with a time of 1:30.28 which earned them a sixth place finish. The men went on to place eleventh in the men's 4x400 meter relay. Owhe also placed 17th in the men's long lump with a distance of 6.03 meters. Clayton placed 12th in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 22.45 seconds as well as 11th in the men's high jump.

This season Ashley Williams (Easton, Pa. / Easton Area High School) made history by securing Penn State Harrisburg's first-ever-CAC track and field gold by winning the women's 60-meter hurdles. This weekend Williams had a third place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 seconds.
 
Head Coach Danielle Lynch was thrilled with Harrisburg's performance, "I am so proud of our ECAC team mebers and their accomplishments as school record setters and all east competitors. Their acheivements help to put Penn State Harrisburg track and field on the map helping us to attract recruits and honor the school." 

The men's and women's track and field teams will open up their outdoor season on Saturday March 19th. Harrisburg will travel to Elizabethtown College for the Elizabethtown Early Bird Opener.
