MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's softball team picked up a pair of victories on the second day of spring break, defeating Wilson 6-1 in the day's first outing before wrapping up competition with a come-from-behind 6-5 victory over Centenary (N.J.) in the second contest.

GAME 1

Penn State Harrisburg (2-1) put up two runs in the third, two more in the fourth, and another two spot in the sixth while Mackenzie Sawdey and Carissa Yeager locked things down inside the circle to secure a 6-1 win over Wilson (4-1) in Monday's first game.

The Lions broke through in the top of the third when an Aspen Walker single drove in Madelyn Lehigh from second base before a Wilson error allowed Walker to plate later in the stanza. They followed it up with two more in the fourth thanks to a Jocelyn Bennett RBI single that scored Alexus Brown and a Sierra Sims base knock that drove in Bennett two at-bats later.

The Phoenix got one back in the bottom of the fourth but Sawdey got three quick outs to end the threat. The top of the sixth saw a Sims triple drive in Elaina Gates before Lehigh's RBI groundout pushed Sims across to push the advantage to five.

Yeager retired Wilson in order in the sixth and stranded a pair in the bottom of the seventh to earn her first save of the season and seal the victory.

GAME 2

Penn State Harrisburg (3-1) erased two separate deficits to secure a 6-5 comeback victory over Centenary (1-1) in Monday's nightcap.

The Cyclones opened the game with a pair of first-inning runs and the early advantage held until Penn State Harrisburg put up a crooked number with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Centenary answered right back with a three spot in the top of the fifth but the Lions responded again with three runs of their own in the bottom half.

Mackenzie Sawdey and her defense behind her worked hard in the late innings to keep the Cyclones off the board, squash any threat, and hold on for the team's second win of the day.
