Smith Named United East Pitcher of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – Penn State Harrisburg's Kierstyn Smith has been named the United East Softball Pitcher of the Week.

 

Smith turned in the best start of her young career in an extra-inning win over Juniata on Thursday afternoon. The freshman got the start inside the circle and threw a complete game in an eight-inning victory over the Eagles, allowing just three hits, no walks, and no earned runs. The Millersburg, Pa. native also recorded four 1-2-3 innings.

 

The Lions (6-4) travel to Elizabethtown for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.
