Harrisburg Gets Road Sweep Over Eastern

St. Davids, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg traveled to Eastern University on Tuesday April 11th for a non-conference double head with the Eagles.   The Lions fell behind early in game one, but with the help of Emily Parmer's three RBI's finished with an exciting 3-4 win.  Penn State Harrisburg left nothing to chance in game two, scoring three runs in the first inning on way to a 10-2 win. 

Here is how each game played out:

In game one, the Lions struggled to get anything going offensively in the first two innings and found themselves down 1-0 going into the top of the third.  Emily Parmer hit a single that scored Kayla Seyfert and Nina Bruno to take a 2-1 lead.

The Eagles responded well in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run homer by Kelsey Clever to retake a 3-2 lead.  Harrisburg scored again in the top of the fifth when Parmer claimed her third RBI that scored Seyfert.  The Lions held Eastern in the bottom of the inning and were able to take the lead in the sixth and hold on for the win.  

Final Score:  Penn State Harrisburg 4 Eastern 3

The Penn State Harrisburg bats began to heat up in game two, helping the team jump out to an early 4-0 lead thanks to Dominique Emmett's three run homer in the second inning after starting the game with a one run first inning.

Harrisburg was in full control of game two and after a huge fifth inning that scored five runs, the Lions were able to claim the win after just five innings.

Final Score:  Penn State Harrisburg 10, Eastern 2

Penn State Harrisburg moved to 12-14, while Eastern University drops to 3-21.
