Penn State Harrisburg Falls to York (Pa.)

Penn State Harrisburg traveled to York College (Pa.) to take on the Spartans in a CAC double header match-up. The Lions fell in both games to the Spartans 7-5 and 9-0.

In game one, the Spartans jumped out early scoring one run to take the lead after the first inning. Both teams entered into a defensive struggle as they went through five innings before both teams' bats would wake up. The Lions would jump to the lead scoring five runs in the top of the 6th highlighted by Jackie Furch (Hallstead, Pa. / Blue Ridge) singling two runs as the Lions took the 5-1 lead. But York would also find their bats scoring six runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the game in the end 7-5.

In game two, the Lions could not find their bats through the whole game as Rieley Loch (Madison Township, Pa. / North Pocono) was the only Lion with multiple hits in game two. With the offense struggling, Erelle Sowers (Harleysville, Pa. / Souderton Area) kept the game close through the first three innings only allowing two hits. But York would open it up in the 4th scoring seven runs on six hits and adding two more in the 5th to take the game 9-0.

Loch led the Lions at the plate going 4 for 6 with two doubles and a RBI.

The Lions will finish up their conference play as they host Southern Virginia, Saturday April 16th on senior day starting at 1 P.M.
