The women's softball team, fresh from a convincing doubleheader sweep over visiting Penn State Abington, completes its season Sunday, April 29 when it travels to Penn State Fayette for a twin bill beginning at 1 p.m.

Two wins at Fayette would even the young squad's final conference record at 10-10.

Freshman Desiree Hipple (Elizabethtown) was the winning hurler in both games for the Harrisburg Lions. She threw five innings in each game and registered five strikeouts in the first tilt, a 24-8 win, and four in the second, a 12-3 nod.

First game offensive leaders were Michelle Herb (Halifax) who went 2-for-4 and scored five runs, Amanda Mentzer (Lower Dauphin) who was 3-for-3 with a double, Amanda Pearson (Warwick) who was 4-for-4 with a double, and Krystal Miranda, who was 3-for-4 with a homer and six runs batted in.

In the second game, Mentzer was 2-for-3 with a grand slam homer and six RBI while Miranda was 3-for-3 with a homer, triple, and six RBI.
