Track & Field Competes at NJAC Outdoor Championships

MAHWAH, N.J. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up their weekend at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Outdoor Championships at Ramapo on Sunday afternoon, May 7. 

 

Paul Netland, Sean Hamby, and Leah Gray each reached the finals of their respective events while also setting new personal records. 

 

Netland barely missed out on a podium finish and all-conference honors, finishing fourth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.98 seconds. Hamby secured a seventh-place finish in the 400m hurdles finals thanks to an effort of 56.34 seconds, while Gray finished eighth in the 100m final after nearly breaking her own program record in the event with a time of 12.30 seconds in preliminary action. Her sprint of 25.68 seconds also earned her an 11th-place finish and stands as the second-quickest time in program history in the 200m dash. 

 

Isaac Whitson finished eighth in the triple jump with a top leap of 12.74 meters and Angad Bhullar earned a top-10 finish in the shot put with a top toss of 12.84 meters to go along with an 11th-place finish in the discus. Makayla Grace Weber finished ninth in the 400m hurdles with an effort of 1:09:15 and just narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish in the 100m hurdles.
