SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field teams opened the outdoor campaign at Susquehanna's two-day Jim Taylor Invite over the weekend, with numerous athletes setting new personal bests and securing spots in the program's record book despite tenuous weather conditions.

Throwers Angad Bhullar and Comlan Greg Acoliste, along with hurdler Paul Netland III, led the way on the men's side. Bhullar topped his previous PR in the discus by three meters when he launched his best throw of 43.50 meters in the event on Saturday; a number strong enough to rank second in program history. Acoliste turned in a similarly strong toss in the hammer, with his best throw of 40.78 meters now standing as his best effort in the event and good enough to rank second all-time. In the first outdoor meet of his young collegiate career, Netland debuted in the number three spot in the program's record book in the 110m hurdles thanks to his time of 15.73 seconds.

For the women, it was newcomer Mikalya Wright breaking into the top three in program history in the hammer, with her throw of 32.73 proving third best all-time. Elsewhere, Leah Gray earned a top-10 finish in the 100m with a sprint of 13.41 seconds, while Makayla Grace Weber finished one spot shy of the top 10 in the 100m hurdles behind an effort of 17.50 seconds.

The Lions will return to action at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday, April 1.
