White Wins Gold On Day One of ECACs

NEW YORK – The stellar season for Penn State Harrisburg's Alex White continued when he won the ECAC Division III Men's Indoor Championship in the long jump at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory on Friday night, March 6.

White secured gold thanks to a top bound of 6.81 meters. With the victory, the senior has now won New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and ECAC Championships in the long jump. He set the program record (7.01 meters) in the event last month and was recently named the NJAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year.

Joseph Rebarchak III also impressed in the field, with his top toss of 11.84 meters securing him an eighth-place finish and securing him a podium spot in the shot put. Andrew Bomberger was also in action as a heptathlon competitor, taking part in the 60m dash, long jump, shot put and high jump events on Friday night.

A number of Blue & White athletes will wrap up their weekends at the ECAC Championships on Saturday afternoon, while White will travel to Shenandoah to compete at the South Region Final Qualifier on Saturday night.
