Lions Take 5th out of 32 in ECAC Championships

New York, NY - Penn State Harrisburg Men's Track & Field team placed 5th out of 32 teams at the 2017-18 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted at the New York City Armory.  Harrisburg was led by Jalil Clayton and Alex White who both claimed first place finishes in their respective events.  The Lions recorded 47 team points in the ECAC Championships.

Jalil Clayton used his 8.27 in the 60m hurdles to claim the top spot while Alex White took home the title in the high jump.  White cleared 2.01m for his first ECAC Championship.  

Josiah Owhe performed extremely well in the men's long jump.  His 6.72m leap was good enough for 4th place overall, one spot shy of claiming a medal.  Former NCAA discus bronze medal winner Cameron Yon showed his versatility with a fifth place finish in the weight throw.  Uzoije Ukattah also took home a fifth place finish in the 60m dash. 

Derrick Young proved his athletic ability in the Heptathlon.  Young finished 1st in the 60m dash, 2nd in the long jump and 2nd in the 60m hurdles to win the bronze. 

Penn State Harrisburg's Men's Track & Field team won't get a break as they immediately move into the outdoor season. The Blue and White head to Susquehanna University for the Jim Taylor Invitational on Saturday March 31st
