MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball head coach Don Friday has been named the HoopDirt.com NCAA Division III Coach of the Week presented by Just Play Solutions.

The national recognition comes after Friday led Penn State Harrisburg (21-3, 11-0 United East) to a pair of wins over conference foes Penn State Abington on Wednesday night and St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon. The victories clinched a regular season conference championship for the program, secured home court advantage for the upcoming United East Championship Tournament, and extended the team's recent win streak to 10 in a row.

Through 24 games, Friday's squad ranks seventh in the nation in assists per game (18.5) and ninth in the country in winning percentage (87.5). The Lions also rank top-25 in Division III in steals per game (10.2) and assist-to-turnover ration (1.42).

Friday was joined by NJIT's Grant Billmeier (Division I), West Texas A&M's Tom Brown (Division II), Keiser's Marcus "Chief" Bryant (NAIA), and Howard CC's Mike Smelkinson (JUCO) as the organization's week 14 national coaches of the week. This is the ninth season that HoopDirt.com has run its Coach of the Week and Coach of the Year programs.

The Lions travel to Lancaster Bible for another matchup with their conference rivals in each team's regular season finale on Wednesday night, Feb. 14.
