Baylor-Carroll Named United East Volt Division Defensive POTW

LATHAM, N.Y. - After a tremendous start to the 2023-24 season, Penn State Harrisburg's Donyae Baylor-Carroll has been named the United East Volt Division Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

 

In his first outing in nearly two years, Baylor-Carroll netted a game-high 19 points, dished out seven assists, and swiped seven steals in a comeback victory over Kean on opening night. The senior guard followed it up by scoring a dozen points and adding a game-high six assists and five steals in an overtime victory against Marymount (Va.) on Saturday night. The Harrisburg, Pa. native capped his first week back by pouring in a game-high 27 points to go along with seven assists and six steals in a win over St. John Fisher on Sunday evening. 

 

For the week, Baylor-Carroll averaged 19.3 points, 6.7 assists, and six assists per contest. For his efforts, he was named the most valuable player (MVP) of this past weekend's Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Classic presented by Comfort Inn & Suites Harrisburg Airport - Hershey South.

 

The tough stretch to begin the season continues for the Lions (3-0) when they face No. 3 John Carroll on the opening night of the National Beef Susquehanna Tip-Off Tournament on Friday evening, Nov. 17.
