Curry Named United East Player of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. – Thanks to his strong performances across three games last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Nate Curry has been named the United East Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

 

Curry was excellent in three games last week, helping lead the Lions to a pair of wins and making some history in the process. The senior began the week by recording a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double along with four assists and three steals in a 68-65 win over the United East leaders from Lancaster Bible on Tuesday night. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native followed it up with a career night in a 79-63 victory over Wells on Friday. He flirted with a triple-double, pouring in a career-high 29 points to go along with 11 rebounds, six assists, and a pair of steals. In the final game of the weekend against Morrisville, the guard netted 16 to become just the seventh player in the program's NCAA era to score 1,000 career points. For the week, Curry averaged 18.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game.

 

The Lions return to action at United East foe Penn State Berks on Tuesday night.
