Former D-II Assistant Connor Markulec Joins Friday's Staff

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Former Division II assistant coach Connor Markulec is joining the Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball coaching staff for the 2022-23 campaign.

 

Fresh off a stint at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Markulec will help man the sideline under reigning d3hoops.com Region IV Coach of the Year Don Friday.

 

Most recently, Markulec was a member of the USP staff during the 2021-22 season; the school's final year of athletic competition. His responsibilities included film breakdown, scouting, analytics, and day-to-day operations.

 

Prior to joining the University of the Sciences, Markulec served as a graduate assistant on the men's basketball coaching staff at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) during the abbreviated 2020-21 season. While there, he assisted with video coordination, individual and group workouts, scouting, and analytics.

 

Outside of the collegiate ranks, Markulec has also served as a coach for the Hoop Group Elite Camps in the summer of 2022 after serving as a coach at the Jr. 76ers Basketball Camps throughout the summer 2021.

 

Markulec graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Delaware in the spring of 2020. He is currently working towards earning his master's degree in Sports Management from IUP.
