Neumann Spoils Big Nights From Eggleston, Scott

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The offense sputtered down the stretch during Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team's 75-66 setback to Neumann at the Capital Union Building on Monday night, Nov. 28. 

 

Isaiah Eggleston netted 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to record his first career double-double, while Zegary Scott III scored a team-high 19 points to go along with eight assists. Nate Curry was the third player to reach double digits with 10 points. 

 

After the game proved to be a back-and-forth affair for much of the night, the Lions (3-3) erased a four-point deficit early in the second half and used a 20-8 run that included 13 combined points from Scott and Chase Robinson to pull ahead 60-52 with 9:39 left to play.

 

From there, however, Penn State Harrisburg went ice cold from the floor and managed just three field goals the rest of the way. The Knights (5-2) took advantage and put together a pivotal 23-6 run to end the contest. 

 

NOTABLES

- Neumann shot 52.6 percent from the floor, while the Lions managed a 46.6 percent shooting clip.

- The Knights shot 43.8 percent from 3-point range. Penn State Harrisburg shot 37.5 percent from beyond the arc.

- The visitors out rebounded the Lions 35-29.

- Penn State Harrisburg finished just 3-of-9 from the free throw line.

- Neumann scored 38 of its points in the paint.

- Penn State Harrisburg's bench outscored the Knights' reserves 28-2.

- Eggleston racked up 16 points and 11 rebounds to record a double-double. He added two steals, a block, and an assist.

- Scott poured in 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go along with eight assists, five boards, and a steal.

- Curry finished with 10 points and three rebounds.

- Lance Douglas added eight points and two boards.

- Chase Robinson chipped in with seven points, two assists, and a pair of rebounds off the bench.

The Lions begin conference play when they travel to Washington D.C. to take on United East foe Gallaudet on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3.
